Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch: Whew, that’s a lot of words in one name. Then again, the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa has a lot of what makes a resort destination great. Obviously there is no correlation between the length of a resorts’ name and its’ effectiveness in providing a wonderful experience. The Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch, gets high marks for service, accommodations, activities, and dining. The Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa features 490 guest rooms, which are decorated in a wonderful southwestern style with Native American influences. The decorating style is not a surprise in this part of the world; but the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale takes its ties with Native American culture seriously . Native American art, music, and dance displays and performances are showcased, along with very interesting interactive learning opportunities. The rooms and suites open up to five courtyards, each with impressive views. Speaking of views, one of the most spectacular around can be enjoyed daily from the patio area just pass the pool and adjoining the lake which borders the Gainey Ranch Golf Club. If the landscaping and hardscaping weren’t nice enough; every evening as the sun sets, the mountains go from a deep orange red to a muted purple with the glow of city lights at their base. There are plenty of reasons for you to want to stay inside and enjoy the luxury and the tremendous service of the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale. There are just as many reasons to get up and get outside and enjoy the wonderful outdoor activities offered. I am a golfer, so forgive me if I mention the golfing opportunities first. Guests of the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale enjoy privileges on the wonderful and very private Gainey Ranch Golf Club. The Gainey Ranch Golf Club offers 27 holes of Benz and Poellot Designed Excellence. The three nines each have a very different environmental style as evidenced by their names; Lake, Dune, and Arroyo. The courses are in great shape and are playable yet challenging. So get out and enjoy. If you are traveling with children, or as a couple, the 2 ½ acre water playground has something for every one. With 10 interconnected pools, a sand beach, a 3 story water slide, and numerous waterfalls, the aquatic area can provide hours of sun drenched fun. If a more quiet and serene experience is to your likeing, don’t fret; there are plenty of private areas and even an adults only pool and couples only pools. Need more adventure? Let the excellent concierge arrange a dessert bike tour or other adventure. Rounding out your Hyatt Regency Scottsdale experience are the wonderful Spa Avania and the sumptuous dining at both SWB, a Southwest Bistro, and Alto Ristorante. Dining options are plentiful and range from the excellent wine list and rare cheese and meat selection of Alto Ristorante, to the casual yet very good offerings of the Water Garden, Moka Coffee Bar, or the Lobby Bar. The Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa promises and delivers on an excellent resort vacation experience. Everything from hot outdoor action to cool relaxation can be experienced at this wonderful resort. The service is excellent and the staff friendly and courteous.
